From Teresa Rush
I would like to take this time to thank those that put time and effort into the Relay for Life Concert that was held March 6 at the Lincoln Theater.
First let me thank Power Country 104 for donating Jamboree in the Hills tickets, Curious George certificates, Pirate tickets, and at the last minute a Timberline certificate worth $500.
Also West Virginia University for donating autographed balls and posters and special thanks goes out to Doug Smith Jr. of Doug’s Graphics for laminating the three posters from WVU.
Thanks to WesBanco employees that donated money toward the purchase of the items in the tub of country collectibles and to Penney Harrison for shopping for the items, to Ace for donating the tub, and Occasions for putting it together.
I especially want to thank those that sold and bought tickets and Witschey’s for allowing us to have tickets for sale at the store. Also thank you to Kathy Wissmar, Ruth Longwell, Pat Lilkendy, and anyone who provided supplies to the concession stand.
The music was provided by One-A-Chord and Attaboy Luther. One-A-Chord donated their CD sales and Attaboy Luther donated t-shirts to be sold and will continue selling them at future concerts and give Relay the proceeds. And their music was great.
I hope everyone enjoyed the fun and music as much as I did. It was wonderful to see my daughter Erica come home and have my family there to support the event. We were able to surpass what we made last year and that is what counts. I appreciate the help of the Wetzel Chronicle, News Register, and WTRF 7 for help in advertising along with everyone who allowed us to put up flyers.
