Curbside Recycling Adds Plastic Items
Tyler/Wetzel Curbside Recycling will now collect plastic bottles and jugs #1 and #2, such as soda pop bottles and milk jugs.
Lids must be discarded. Bottles must be rinsed out. No other plastic will be accepted.
Curbside recycling will continue to accept clean aluminum cans, clean bimetal cans, small pieces of aluminum, brass, stainless steel, and auto batteries.
Regarding glass items, curbside recycling will continue to accept green, clear, or brown bottles or jugs.
It must be unbroken glass without lids and clean. No other glass will be taken.
Please observe that a recycling drop-off on state Route 2 in New Martinsville near state Route 7 and Harlan Drive is for the same items as listed above. It is for people who have no curbside available at home.
Also note that a cargo trailer located at the state Route 2 drop-off is for newspapers and phone books only.
It will be necessary to drop them off at the trailer as the Wetzel County Solid Waste Authority cannot handle them curbside.
No other items can be accepted and will be littering if left there.
