By Staff | Jan 27, 2010

The recent purchase of a Q-Rad Radiographic System and a Shimadzu MobileArt Plus mobile unit is another testimonial of Sistersville General Hospital’s continuous effort to provide the best possible care to area patients. This state of the art equipment ensures a lower dose radiation examination than previous equipment.

The Q-Rad System features an Ultra High Frequency X-Ray Generator. It also has an Elevating Float-Top table with a 650-pound patient weight capacity. This system configuration provides the ability to examine patients in both supine and upright positions. This is helpful when imaging patients that may have limited mobility.TechVision, an added feature, is a highly advanced generator which allows technologists to easily view and set up all technique parameters, as well as access set-up functions right at tube-side.

MobileArt Plus is designed by integrating solutions for the real requirements from the field for mobile imaging. The compact size of the mobile unit allows the technologist to navigate through narrow passages to provide beside examinations to the patients.

Sistersville General Hospital has a rich tradition of providing quality healthcare in meeting the needs of its patients.Since its origination in 1908, the hospital has readily responded to the changing needs of the community. This has been accomplished through the leadership of a dedicated board of managers, administration, the exemplary medical staff, and devoted employees who, as a team, plan for and deliver healthcare services in a caring and compassionate manner.

The Imaging Department is staffed by registered technologists who provide 24 hour coverage for the hospital. The department provides general radiograph exams, ultrasound (including vascular and obstetrics), mobile MR, CT, and ACR accredited mammography service.

An open house will be held on Jan. 28 from 1-8 p.m.The community is invited to attend.
