It is with a heavy heart that I report there was a fire overnight at the Ritchie County animal shelter.Their cat building and supply building were destroyed.Sadly, they do notbelieve there were any survivors from the cat building which housed cats, kittens, a mama dog andpups, and their shelter mascots. They alsolost all of their supplies for their remaining animals. We will have two drop off points for supplies they need: our shelter, 29th and Poplar Sts., Parkersburg, 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday; and 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday; and Jon Six & Co., 1509 Grand Central, Ste.2,Vienna (across from Vienna Lowes), 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

Following is a list of their needs: cat and dog food, transport crates, refrigerators to store medicines, cat kennel cages, ex-pens for puppies, cleaning supplies, trash bags, litter pans, litter, cat food, feeding bowls, newspapers, bedding, etc.

The most urgent need now is to replace the destroyed food.

We will also be serving as their overflow cat intake until they can get back on their feet.Any help you can provide would be so greatly appreciated. This is the one thing I fear the most so I can’t imagine what they are going through right now. Please say a little prayer for them and those they lost.

Thanks in advance for your help.
