Our Spark Is Gone

Judy Hill
You’ve probably heard by word of mouth or noticed on page 2A that the Wetzel Chronicle lost a member of its family during the past week. Judy Hill lost her short battle with cancer Dec. 2.
For those of you who didn’t know Judy, you really missed out. Just knowing her through these pages was not really knowing her. Sure, her wit and straightforward attitude came through, but experiencing it first-hand was truly different.
When I first came to the Wetzel Chronicle I was only familiar with her through her writings. Honestly, I wasn’t so sure I would like working with her, even though she was just a contributor and not part of the office staff. Any doubts were quickly erased as her sunny visits on Wednesdays became weekly highlights. Seeing her photo in the obituaries brings home just how much we will miss her. She brought a spark to everyone who knew her.
Her niece Lynn Cole Stecklein will be writing her final column for her in the next week or two. We will miss “Judy’s Views”.
