Police Arrest Goddard
Police have arrested Aaron Goddard, 23, of Highland Avenue in New Martinsville. Goddard is believed to be the young man who robbed the Chevron gas station in Hannibal on Nov. 16.
New Martinsville Police Chief Tim Cecil said he received calls from Speedway and Go-Mart gas stations in New Martinsville where Goddard was spotted on the surveillance cameras wearing the same clothing as seen in the Chevron video. However, in those videos the suspect was not wearing his mask. With this new information, police were able to identify and locate Goddard. With search warrants from the Wetzel County, Monroe County, and New Martinsville Police, Goddard was arrested at his home on Nov. 18.
This investigation involved officers from Wetzel and Monroe counties sheriffs’ departments, the New Martinsville Police Department, and the Paden City Police Department. A West Virginia State Trooper was also involved. The case is still under investigation.
