Hundred Looks At Changing The Town’s Election Schedule

By Staff | Nov 25, 2009

At Hundred’s Town Council meeting on Nov. 2, the council inquired into getting the terms of office changed from two-year to four-year terms and to get their municipal election added to the county ballot. At their second meeting of the month held Nov. 16, the council had received paperwork for a charter revision to change the election day.

The next step for the council is to discuss the revision with their attorney. This is a growing practice in many towns in an effort to save money and make campaign and election processes more convenient for voters.

In other news, the council has tentatively set the Hundred Christmas Parade for Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. A toy giveaway will be held the same night as the parade at the high school.
