From Rosy Cozart
I would like to thank all those who came to and helped at our Mutt Strut at Bruce Park!
I would like to thank God for the sunny day in the midst of coolness and rain.
Next thanks to all those who collected pledges and donated at the event. They make the event a success! All the winners of the contests and the sponsors were mentioned in the article in the Wetzel Chronicle.
Of course all those who work to set up, run, and clean up at the event are indispensable. These include the New Martinsville Parks and Recreation Department donated park; New Martinsville Police Department escorted our dog walk; Connie Yeager took responsibility for the money handled that day; Jody Michaels, Penny Burch, and Marilyn Jacobs helped with registration; Stephanie Stine Pegg, Leslie Manley, and Kevin Yeager did face painting and t-shirt decorating; Leslie also collected door prizes and raffles, prepared t-shirt decorating, and did much more; Carman Harman donated his services for the live remote donated by 104 and 99.5, Beth Ann Shreve, Evan Shreeve, Todd Strickler, and Emily Strickler helped Father Neville with pet blessings; Connie Cunningham and family with Sunny Dayz did free pawdicures; Becci, Josh, and Scott Loy prepared and ran the soup cook off and pumpkin decorating; Carol Pefferman and Deloris Murdock sold t-shirts; Tiffany Bolten, Ruth Lint, and Lucinda Kirk helped Lou Rabel and Sam White in concessions; Lou Rabel prepared all the food and the concessions area; Sam White, Tammy Dunbar, and Dan Greathouse helped set up the strut; Nancy Nice did the fall motif photo ops; Susan Fair and Helen Bennet did candid photos; Helen Benet created and printed certificates; Debra King donated Avon and sold homemade doggy treats made by Suzy Manley; Leslie Manley, Doris Glod, Stephanie Wells, and Melissa Dinger handled raffles and door prizes; Mike Clark, assisted by Joan Frye, set up and sold pet related items; James Jung sold crafts and donated 10 percent to the shelter; Pam Ferrell helped with a little bit of everything and her nieces, Haley and Emma Johnson, held the parade banner; Talon Ferrell rode alongside; Soren Shade led the parade in a cute little doggy outfit; Christy Weaver did all our mailings, hung many signs, and helped that day.
I apologize now for anyone I have missed mentioning but please know that you are very appreciated. Please let me know if you were not recognized.
Thanks all!
Until next year,
Rosy Cozart
