It has come to my attention that the picture in the newspaper with our home in the background may give people the wrong idea.
We are for the helicopter coming to Wetzel County Hospital.
We have always got noise from the helicopters and it is not as bad as some other noise in this town. Our home sets above the pad and we are the ones that get the noise.
Some things to think about:
If Route 2 is closed, the helicopter may be the only way in and out of the hospital.
We have old plants in the area and now work on gas wells. There could be accidents that need quick response and the helicopter being here would save valuable time and lives.
West Virginia has many high risk children being born every day. The helicopter being here would make it possible to move a baby at high risk to another hospital immediately. That reduces the chance of many disabilities.
If there is a helicopter here all the time, the pilots would be used to the area. They would know the risk of electric lines, tress, and where all the problems are to fly into this hospital.
