Two Killed In Crash
Two Littleton area residents were killed and two others seriously injured in a single vehicle crash that occurred at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 250 south of W.Va. 89 in Marshall County.
According to Marshall County Chief Deputy Kevin Cecil, the vehicle was traveling south and “went off the road, at a curve and struck a tree.”
He said, “Alcohol was believed to be involved.”
Richard Derby, 31, the driver of the car, and his wife, Crystal Derby, 45, the front seat passenger, were both “killed on impact,” according to reports.
Backseat passengers, daughter, Michelle Villers, 29, and Edgar Yoho, 42, were both injured and transported by medical helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Cecil said a small dog was also in the vehicle and was taken to family members.
Cecil explained the crash is still under investigation to see if there were any other extenuating circumstances. He said a reconstructionist was called to the scene in addition to two deputies.
Others responding to the crash were Cameron and Hundred Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Medical personnel, county coroner, and medical helicopters from Morgantown.
