Williams Wins Emmy Saturday

David Williams, a graduate of Magnolia High School and a New Martinsville native, is making a big name for himself as a celebrity makeup artist.
He has been recognized for his work in television with five prime time Emmy nominations and his work on MADtv just recently won a Emmy for Outstanding Makeup for a Multi-Camera Series or Special (non-prosthetic) for the episode 1045, Fox Girl Group Company. His award was one of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards presented Saturday at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, Calif. The Prime-Time Emmy Awards will be given Sept. 20 at the Nokia Theater and televised on CBS beginning at 8 p.m.
Williams got his start in the theater at MHS . His senior year he played the lead role in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”.
After high school, Williams attended St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas. While a student, he did acting and modeling.
After graduation he moved to Los Angeles and worked as an agent for Nina Blanchard, now Ford Models. Chanel then offered him a chance to travel the northwest as a makeup artist. After returning to California he soon acquired an impressive clientele working Beverly Hills.
He has had three nominations for the the Hollywood Makeup Artist Guild, in which he won the award in 2003. He has also been an on-air host for Bourjois Cosmetics on QVC and also recently been a judge for the 2009 Miss Texas Pageant.
His television credits include the series Shark, Mad men, The Mentalist, MADtv, JAG, Blue Collar TV, The O.C, The Next Best Thing, and The Underground. His film credits include the The Comebacks, Date Movie, I Love Huckabees, and Million Dollar Hotel. He has been the makeup artist for the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders for the past nine years and he has been associated with major media campaigns for the NFL/ESPN, New Line Cinema, AMC, Tristar, FOX, Maxim, and Speedo.
