The male and female leads of a movie being filmed in Wetzel County were guests of New Martinsville Rotary Aug. 19 to preview “The Deposition,” scheduled to be released early next year.
The film, written and directed by former New Martinsville resident Eddie Mensore, focuses on the characters Adam Law, played by Charles Rashard, and Jill Dotey, played by Rachel Forbes, daughter of Bill and Vikki Forbes of New Martinsville.
In the tale, a woman and her boyfriend attend a wedding in a small community. She happens to run into a former suitor and a romantic triangle becomes explosive.
Rashard said that because of Mensore’s “extensive experience we are able to do so many things the ‘big’ studios do, especially in special effects.” Forbes commented on the “gracious reception and cooperation” by residents in using locations for filming.
Filming began July 27 and is expected to be completed around Aug. 27. In addition to Bill Forbes, several other area residents have cameo appearances.
Mensore was filming on location and unable to be present at the Rotary meeting. He is a 1994 graduate of Magnolia High School and is an independent film producer in Los Angeles.
He produced and directed The Birthday Boy in 1995 and is working on another film for release next year.
