From Delbert Mason
Prior to the end of the 2008-2009 school year, the Wetzel County Board of Education made the announcement that a reduction in force, or a “job loss”, would occur due to the declining enrollment of students here within Wetzel County. My questions is, did the Wetzel County Board of Education hit a “Gold Mine” since they had made this determination? Must have.
Recently, the Wetzel County Board of Education appropriated nearly $70,000 dollars for the purchase of an SUV and two gas guzzling pickup trucks for the personal transportation of the superintendent, transportation director, and the chief mechanic.
This is nothing more than a slap in the face to the taxpayers of Wetzel County, and a disservice to the personnel who lost their jobs. The ones who lost the most are our children. Shame on you.
Sincerely,
Delbert Mason
