Bluegrass Festival Lineup Includes Seven Acts

Anyone who enjoys bluegrass festivals shouldn’t miss the fourth annual Veterans Bluegrass Festival held near the town of Hundred on Aug. 21 and 22. This event is sponsored by the American Legion Post 120 of Hundred.

This year it will be held at the Mt. Herman Campground on state Route 7, 5.8 miles west of Hundred. At the turn off on state Route 7, it is 1.5 miles to the campgrounds. Make a sharp left at Mt. Herman Church, which will be on your right on top of the hill, and proceed to the campgrounds.

Come with a lawn chair and enjoy the entertainment slated to play bluegrass favorites. Both days are filled with great bands.

Starting on Friday the event will start at 3:30 p.m. and continue until 11:30 p.m. The line up of bluegrass bands on Friday is from 4-5 p.m., Mon Valley Pickers; 5:10-6:10 p.m., 23 Special; 6:20-7:20 p.m., Bluegrass 409; 7:30-8:30 p.m., Awesome Possum; 8:35-9:40 p.m., 23 Special; and 9:45-11:30 p.m., Lonesome Heart.

On Saturday the line up of the bands is 1-2 p.m., Mon Valley Pickers; 2:10-3:40 p.m., Hillbilly Gypsies; 3:50-4:50 p.m., Awesome Possum; 5-6 p.m., Jessica Schoonover and Rocky River; 6:10-7:40 p.m., Hillbilly Gypsies; 7:45-8:45 p.m., Bluegrass 409; 8:50-9:50 p.m., Jessica Schoonover and Rocky River; and 10-11:30 p.m., Lonesome Heart.

A total of seven bluegrass bands will be playing for this two-day event.

Advance tickets for the two days will be $30, Friday only tickets will be $15, and Saturday only will $20.
