Dotson Arrested For Car Break-In

An early morning arrest around 5:37 a.m. on July 30 by New Martinsville Patrolman Bruce Smith landed one Wetzel County man in jail for breaking into vehicles.

According to New Martinsville Police Chief Tim Cecil, Jonathan Douglas Dotson, 22, of Lot 14, 28 Rose St., New Martinsville, was spotted and reported by two calls of Dotson breaking into vehicles around the Abbie View Apartments area in New Martinsville. Cecil reported that there was a foot pursuit, but Dotson was apprehended and taken to the Northern Regional Jail in Moundsville. Various items were allegedly stolen by Dotson. He is now facing charges of fleeing from an officer and petit larceny.

Cecil stated this was his department’s third incident of arresting suspects for breaking into vehicles that week.
