The weather didn’t dampen the spirit of giving this pass weekend at the Wetzel County Relay For life. Although it had to be postponed one day due to the weather, the relay fared quite well.

When the 12 hours of walking, enjoying the scheduled entertainment, eating the food, participating in the fun activities, and socializing came to an end, relay ended up not only meeting their goal but succeeding it by making a grand total of $110,990.

On behalf of all the committee members, team captains, team members, organizers would like to thank all the businesses that sponsored the event and to those who loaned tents, provided music, helped to set up for the event, take down, clean up, and any other jobs that were taken care of. Without the help of everyone, this success for the Wetzel County Relay for Life would not have happened. From the fund raising to sell t-shirts and raffle tickets to the basketball games, just to name a few. “Again, thank you all for everything,” said a spokesperson.

Until next year when the same thing will happen again in June make certain to follow through with your challenge to fight back against cancer. There is no finish line until we find a cure!.
