Pitching In For Sweep

By Staff | Jun 24, 2009

Despite questionable weather forecasts, the sun came out for the annual Ohio River Sweep on Saturday. The Parks and Recreation would like to thank the volunteers who came out and a special thanks goes to Bayer for sponsoring and making arrangements for the dumpster rental. The New Martinsville Parks and Recreation Department had 35 generous volunteers come out and give their time to help clean up in various areas along the river. There were several bags of garbage picked up in only two hours time. It is amazing what a difference dedicated people can make in numbers.
