Shepherd Is Recorder

The City of Paden City had their general election on June 4 for their City Recorder, First, Second and Third Council Ward positions.

Larry Shepherd won the City Recorder election with 337 votes. He was running against Genelle Ferrebee won had 120 votes and Kathi Ferrebee who had removed herself from the race but her name was already on the ballot. She didn’t receive any votes. Shepherd will be serving a two-year term.

The only other contested race was for the Second Ward council seat. It was won by Richard Wright Jr. with 72 votes, beating out Tom Trader by 12 votes. Trader received a total of 60 votes. Wright will serve Paden City Council for two years.

The First Ward council seat was won by incumbent Jarrell Bailey. He was unopposed and received 112 votes. He also will be serving a two-year term for Paden City.

For council, Third Ward, incumbent Eileen Smittle won unopposed with a total of 115. She too, will serve a two-year term for Paden City.
