Wetzel County Sheriff Department Officers Corporal Mike Koontz and Deputy Rob Scott, along with Wetzel EMS and the New Martinsville Volunteer Fire Department, responded to a one-car accident on May 7.

A Ford Ranger stuck a light pole around 3 p.m. on state Route 2 in New Martinsville at the Speedway Gas Station.

Two teenagers involved in the accident were taken to Wetzel County Hospital.

One was treated for injuries involving a fractured wrist and a cut on the head. Both were released from the hospital.
