Wetzel County Sheriff James Hoskins is issuing a warning to Wetzel County residents regarding a scam that has hit a couple of its residents.

He said some people are showing up in pick up trucks offering to blacktop driveways for cash. After receiving the payment, they are returning to the residence, dropping a pile of blacktop in the driveway, and never returning to spread the material or finish the job.

Two incidents of this type have been reported in the Hundred area.
