Magnolia TSA Keeps Winning Streak Alive
For the 14th consecutive year, the Magnolia High School Technology Student Association Team been named the most outstanding school at the state TSA conference April 2-4 at Cedar Lakes.
The record-setting, record-breaking event establishes MHS as the winningest TSA school in West Virginia, with 33 members of the 38-student team placing in the top three of the 31 events scheduled at the competition. An estimated 450 students from Classes A, AA, and AAA schools in all 55 counties attend the conference. In addition, junior Joe Feeney was among only three students from around the state at the conference to be inducted into the TSA Honor Society-a distinction Feeney shares with several other Magnolia students.
It also was another personal “victory” for TSA mentor Dave Kimble, whose team bested his son’s TSA Team from Tyler Consolidated High School for the third year in a row. In addition to being TSA advisor at Consolidated, J. C. Kimble also is head coach of Knights boys’ varsity basketball team.
Some of Magnolia’s winning students will take their talents to the National TSA Conference in Denver, Colo., June 28-July 2. The trip is paid entirely from student personal funds and donations are welcomed at Magnolia High School, 601 Maple Ave., New Martinsville, WV 26155.
The Magnolia TSA winners and events follow. Two or more students sharing the same place indicate a team event.
