By Staff | Apr 8, 2009

On March 27, Clair Philip Dawson was arrested for a probation violation. Wetzel County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Rob Scott, Deputy Rob Hayes, and Deputy Rob Haught, along with Adult Probation Officer John Lantz, went to Dawson’s residence. As a condition of probation, law enforcement officers can inspect a probationer’s residence at any time. The officers found a large amount of marijuana at this residence. Dawson was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver.

Also on April 2, Deputy Randy Adams and Deputy Eric Daugherty, also of the Wetzel County Sheriff’s Department, made a drug arrest on Evelyn Diane Bowen from Wallace, W.Va. Around 9:30 p.m. Bowen was pulled over for a traffic stop out state Route 20 near Folsom. The K-9 unit was called to the scene with K-9 Officer Mauser doing an exterior sniff of the vehicle. Thanks to Mauser, a large quality of marijuana was found. Bowen was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
