From Short Line Youth Wrestling coaches and parents
On Feb. 1 the first annual Short Line Youth Wrestling Tournament was held at Valley High School. The ages for the wrestlers ranged from four and under to 15 years old. Over 270 wrestlers participated
in the tournament from West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. The funds raised from our tournament will help pay for expenses for our kids to participate in the West Virginia State Wrestling Tournament in Parkersburg. The funds will also help out with future expenses related to our Short Line Youth Wrestling Program. We were very pleased with the turnout and felt that our tournament was a huge success.
A lot of hard work went into this tournament and we would like to thank the following individuals and businesses for their donations and support: Paul Cain, Bill Arnolds, Jay Dee Dallison, Cshawn Smith, Leslie Delaney, Georgie Smith, McDiffitt’s Pipe; McDonald’s; Burger King; Country Roads Ford; Satterfield Floral & Gifts, Sons of the American Legion (Post 81); National Tire & Battery; Priscilla Rebekah Lodge; Simons Market; Palmers Funeral Home; Mason Depot; Norris Pharmacy; Valley Diner; Jennifer Adams, Chuck Roberts and family, Radio Shack; Tim Flint, A & L Concrete (Alan Miller); Town of Pine Grove, Team Cataclysm (MMA); Folson EMS; Bridge Tool Equipment; Ace Hardware; AutoZone; Jane Beckett-Short Line School, and Shawn Coen-Valley High School.
We hope that we did not leave anyone out. If we have, we truly apologize. We would also like to thank the coaches and parents who spent many hours of their help in preparation of our tournament.
Everyones’s help and support throughout our tournament has been greatly appreciated. We look forward to having our second annual Short Line Youth Wrestling Tournament next year.
Thanks,
Short Line Youth Wrestling coaches and parents
