By Staff | Feb 18, 2009

Emergency personnel take Wallace “Wally” Reese of New Martinsville to a medical helicopter that landed on Magnolia High School’s football field Feb. 11. At approximately 2 p.m. that day Reese was driving a motorcycle north on W.Va. 180 when he neared the bottom of River Hill at the road’s intersection with W.Va. 2. West Virginia State Police Cpl. C.J. Lantz said Reese ran off the right side of the roadway, hit one of the roadway signs, then lost control and the bike and passenger went into a nearby ditch. He was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Lantz, the investigating officer, said he does not expect to issue any citations in connection with the accident. Other agencies responding to the scene were the Wetzel County Sheriff’s Department and New Martinsville Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Medical Service. (Photo by Bruce Crawford)
