Chamber Sets Awards Dinner
The Wetzel County Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner is set. On April 30 the Chamber will be hosting its annual awards dinner to honor residents of Wetzel County for their contributions in the area of education, business, and civic involvement.
“Seven categories of winners will be honored again this year and your nominations will count,” says Mindy Mall, dinner committee member. “In future additions of the Wetzel Chronicle a nomination form will be printed allowing you to mail or e-mail the Chamber those people you feel are deserving of recognition. The seven categories are listed below, so begin thinking of nominees.”
Business Owner of the Year: A person who has owned their own business for at least six months and has made a significant impact on the economic or business climate of the community.
Employee of the Year: An employee of any business in Wetzel County who is an invaluable part of the business they work for.
Professional of the Year: Any professional including but not limited to doctors, dentists, lawyers, and accountants who has contributed to the community in an extraordinary way.
Educator of the Year: A person whose efforts as an educator inspire our youth and whose work is exemplary.
Youth Leadership/ Volunteer of the Year: A youth who lives in Wetzel County who has shown exceptional qualities in serving the community he or she lives in.
Civic Organization of the Year: An organization that has significantly impacted the community and residents of Wetzel County.
Citizen of the Year: A person whose personal presence and continued contribution to the community makes this a better place to live.
