I thought about writing small notes and putting them on my neighbors’ doors, but I realized that with this bad weather and my physical limitations that that was next to impossible. So I am using your newspaper, dear editor and former wonderful student, as my forum. Yesterday’s sermon really hit home. Mark, the pastor, said that he had seen a movie and was telling many how good it is. Then he realized that he doesn’t tell how good his church is. I, too, fit into that same category.

Therefore, I would like to tell others about my good little church. It is Proctor Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and is located in “downtown” Proctor. We average 40 in attendance, have Sunday school classes for all ages, and a worship service each Sunday. Our women’s group and congregation are very active in service projects. I always knew that God existed, but it was at this little church at the age of 29 where I experienced Jesus and asked Him into my heart. Many years (27 to be exact) later my faith continues to grow because of my little church and my wonderful church family. I learned that I did not need God as much as He needed me. Therefore, if you do not have a home church or a church home, you are very welcome at my little church…Proctor Christian Church. Located just off State Route 2 it is very easy to find. Traveling north from New Martinsville take the first (almost immediate) left after passing the intersection with Route 89. It is the first church on the left. Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m., and worship service begins at 11 a.m. If you have any questions, you can call me. I am in the book. I am looking forward to seeing you because God needs you, too.
