Infant Abuse Investigation Continues; Baby's Great-Grandfather Responds Posted: 4:17 pm EDT March 29,2010 Updated: 7:48 pm EDT March 29,2010 NEW MARTINSVILLE, W.Va. -- Police in Wetzel County said they are still investigating a case of what they called severe child abuse against an infant. Sabrina Riggs, who is 3 months old now, has been in the hospital more than a month. Last week, she was put under the care of foster officials. Police said they expect charges to be filed and said they believe the infant was abused. Bill Dendron, Riggs' great-grandfather, said her entire family is at odds and it is tremendously difficult to see an infant fight for her life. "From the house up to the hospital, I cried the whole way up," Dendron said. He said he feels that in tough times, he must remain strong for his family. "I have to.
