The festival was wonderful. It was even better than I expected and there wasn't a dull moment. Thank you to the RDC and everyone involved for including me in the event. It was a memorable day.

I don't know if sponsoring was the right word...maybe organizing would be better...and thank you to all of the groups and sponsors who helped as well.

I'm pleading "temporary narcolepsy". I fell asleep early yesterday...involuntarily. I missed city council meeting. Dadblastit. If anyone would like to fill me in, I'd very much appreciate it.

Great memories. I want to mention, since we discussed these books on one topic or another, that Quinet's still had a copy of Jake Forbes' book ("Jake's Favorites") so I bought it and I ordered a copy of "The History of Wetzel County" by John C. Mceldowney.

Hi oldtimer! I meant to say Temple News. Other memories I have are taking trips out to Anerson's farm in Proctor and fishing with my dad. We spent a lot of time outdoors. Hiking up to Buzzard's Rock was always fun too. One could sit on the rock and see across the river and pretty far down.

Hi bossqueen. I loved Main Street at Christmas in those days too. I liked the Temple Mens store but I liked the Temple News even better. Thanks for posting. Please post more memories.

Hi DJ ! Thanks. I think Boury started Elby's (LB) Big Boy...right? I asked a few fine older than me timers and they thought maybe Wendy Sands owned the "Fat Boy" (where Po Boy is now). Wendy owned the trailer park (Rolling Stone) that was behind there. Do you think the Boury family owned Fat Boy too or are you mixing it up with Big Boy? I did get to see some pictures of it today...finally! The chair of the CVB found some in old yearbooks in the museum.

I have lots of warm memories of growing up in New Martinsville. Every Christmas, PPG would rent the Community Theater and show cartoons to the employees' children. I remember Temple Men's Store, and Homer Morgan's store in Steelton. It really was a golden time.
