Rotary Names Haleigh King And Gabriel Lichliter Students Of The Month

New Martinsville Rotary Club held it's weekly meeting and luncheon on Wednesday, Feruary 5, at Quinets Restaurant in New Martinsville. The club honored two Magnolia High School Students as students of the month for February.

Receiving the honor s were Haleigh King, daughter of Miranda and Josh King of New Martinsville.

Haleigh carries a 4.04 GPA and is in the top 10 percent of her class. She is a member of Cause for Paws, National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, MU ALPHA THETA, and the drug free club.

She is a freshman mentor and belongs to scources of strength. Her Athletic acheivements include Cheerleading 2,3,and 4, Softball 1,2,2 and 3, Volleyball 1 and 2, and was a member of the OVAC Softball runnerup team.

Her community activities include volunteering at the Wetzel County Animal Shelter, the Salvation Army, and Youth Sports.

Her hobbies include shopping, cheering, friends and family.

She plans to attend West Virginia University and major in nursing. Haleigh is eligible for the promise scholarship and the scholarship of distinction (WVU) level 3.

Gabriel (GaBE) is the son of David and Kari Dinardo. He is also a 4.04 GPA student and ranks high in his class. He belongs to the PC Club, science national honor society, MU ALPHA THETA, and OVAC Academic Group.

He has been in the top 10 percent three years in a row, is an exceptional foreign language student, exceptional journalism, and exceptional US History.

Gabe's hobbies include Family, coding, researching, gaming, and spending time with his friends. He plans to attend WVU and major in computer sciences. He will also pursue information technology. Gabe is eligible for the WV Promise scholarship and the SOD level 1.

The speaker for Wednesday's meeting was Roger Clegg of Blue Racer who gave an excellent presentation on the local Blue Racer Plant.

Clegg gave a slide presentation detailing the operations of the facility along with imforming the club of how gas is processed and transported in and out of the facility. Club members asked several questions that Clegg was able to answer including the plants role in employment to the local area. I was a very informative and interesting meeting.

Several quests were in attendance including several members of the local chamber of commerce. Blue Racer graciously picked up the tab for the lunch bill. The Roatary meets every Wednesday of the month at 12 noon at Quinets. Prospective members are encouraged to attend.
