Paden City Plans Christmas Celebration

By Staff | Dec 12, 2018

Paden City Council met in regular session Monday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at the municipal building.

Mayor Clyde Hochstrasser started the meeting by wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday and a Merry Christmas, on behalf of the city. The council invited citizens to attend the Paden City Christmas tree lighting, to be held on Dec. 15 at Bicentennial Park, at 6:30 p.m. The tree lighting celebration will include a visit from Santa, cookies, hot chocolate and a choir to sing carols.

A citizen was on hand at the meeting to discuss a water leak that is causing damage to her home. The resident reported the leak has caused a wall to move more than half of an inch in one month. The city has tried to find the leak by using sound equipment but has been unable to find the source of the water. The mayor suggested the next step is to dig a hole where a previous leak was found in the line in the past. Officials stated they will exhaust every possible resource to find the water leak.

The mayor reported the $5 million water project is moving forward.
