Three Locals Die In Accident

Three Wetzel County residents died Friday, Nov. 16 as the result of a vehicle accident in Monongalia County.

Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements for Ray Booher, 90, and his son and daughter, Danny Ray Booher, 70, and Patty Booher Hawkins, 71. The obituaries note each of the three died as a result of an automobile accident that occurred near Pentress, W.Va.

Published reports indicate a Toyota Venza, a crossover SUV, crossed the center line and hit a large rig truck on Friday afternoon in Pentress.

The driver, front passenger, and back right passenger in the Toyota were killed.

Two of the Toyota’s occupants died at the scene, while one of the Toyota’s occupants died while being transported to the hospital. A fourth passenger in the Toyota had minor, unknown injuries and was taken to the hospital. The driver of the truck was uninjured.

Per her obituary, memorial contributions may be made, in Patty’s name, to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Western PA-Pittsburgh, 810 River Ave Suite 100, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.

Per Ray Booher’s obituary, memorial contributions may be made, in Ray’s name, to WV Autism, 277 Bennett Drive, Weirton, WV 26062.

According to Danny Booher’s obituary, memorial contributions may be made, in Danny’s name, to Wetzel County Hope and Memories.

Visitation was held for all three on Nov. 19, from 2-8 p.m. at New Martinsville United Methodist Church, located at 10 Howard Jeffers Drive, New Martinsville, W.Va.
