Working Together

September 26, 2018
Wetzel Chronicle

Despite being a weekly publication, the folks here at the Wetzel-Tyler Newspapers never stop working. A fresh paper may hit the stands only once a week, but we are still working the other six days.

Our lives are made of deadlines. We work from one deadline to the next, and as soon as we finish one week's assignments, we move to the following week. On Tuesday afternoon our pages are sent to press, but at this point, we have already begun working on next week's editions.

Those deadlines are, indeed, important. For the past few years we have had the same Friday deadline. Unless there is a holiday, which would make our deadlines earlier, all materials are due Friday. Legals are due at 11 a.m.; advertisements are due by noon. Coming events, letters to the editor, society items, and any other editorial submissions are due at 9 a.m. on Friday.

Our work is a service to our community, and sometimes we need our community's help to make our product the best possible.

Being "on time" is an expectation of every individual, and it's the same for the newspaper business, with the exception of unexpected breaking news.

Whether we are spotlighting the local youth, reporting on council or commission, publishing a wedding announcement, or sharing a reunion notice, each piece of your community's news is important to us. We may never stop working, but we are honored to serve you.
