Remembering Mr. Coen

December 13, 2017
Wetzel Chronicle

This past May we received a special birthday submission at the Chronicle, concerning Bob Coen. Mr. Coen had turned 80-years-old in April, and for this special milestone, he was given his very own FFA jacket.

The jacket was a token of appreciation, from the Pine Grove FFA, for Coen's 39 years of volunteer service to the organization.

Coen smoked the students' hams and bacons at his house, where he had built a smoke house. He was a staple at the school, helping the organization and truly loving his work.

We are very sad to learn that Mr. Coen passed away on Thursday, Dec. 7. The loss is enormous to Coen's family and friends, and the many lives he touched over his decades of service. We are certain, however, that his legacy of hard work and excellence will live on through the exemplary Pine Grove FFA that he has helped to establish.
