Churches Targeted With Break-Ins

December 7, 2017
Wetzel Chronicle

Three New Martinsville churches were broken into Wednesday evening, according to New Martinsville Police Chief Tim Cecil.

Chief Cecil said St. Vincent De Paul Church, New Martinsville United Methodist Church, and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church each suffered damages, including stolen money. The offenses occurred around 10 p.m.

The chief confirmed that the churches' Christmas gifts, for area needy children, were unwrapped, though he is unsure as to whether any of the gifts were stolen, as the churches are still assessing damages.
