W.Va. AG seeks contempt order against bus company

August 4, 2014
Associated Press

SPENCER, W.Va. (AP) — The West Virginia Attorney General's Office is seeking a contempt order against a charter bus company over the cancellation of a trip in 2010.

In its court petition, the office says Cavs Coach Company has failed to comply with an agreement to reimburse $6,800 to consumers for tickets purchased and to pay $1,000 in civil penalties to the state.

The petition says Cavs Coach cancelled a trip for the Reedy Elementary School PTO in November 2010. Under the January 2013 agreement, the Cross Lanes company was to pay the reimbursement and penalties in monthly installments of $650.

The company didn't immediately return a telephone message left Monday.

The Attorney General's Office filed the petition in late July in Roane County Circuit Court.
