MHS Girls Track Place Second

The Magnolia girls placed second overall in the Ryan Jobs Spring Special in Williamstown March 25, while taking second in the Bellaire four-team meet in Bellaire, March 28.

Bailey Estep, Jordan Delaney and Kristen Massey paced the defending Class A girls champions with first individual place finishes in both the Ryan Jobes Special, and the Bellaire Meet, while Massey, Alayna Cline and Liza Clegg captured second-places finishes in Bellaire, and Delaney at Ryan Jobes to lead them to a second place finish in both meets.

Delaney started where she left off at state last year, winning the 3,200 meter run at 12:23.92, while finishing a close second to TaShala Turner of University, 5:15.36 to 5:41.24 in the 1,600 meter run. She also teamed with Massey, Kelsi Chapman and Kennedy Parsons to win the 4x400 meter relay.

Also at the Ryan Jobes Spring Special, Estep also picked up where she left off last season, winning the high jump at 5-4 and the long jump at 15-5. Estep also teamed with Massey, Chapman and Clegg to get second place in the 4x100 meter relay, and third in the 4x200 meter relay with the same teammates.

Besides teaming up in both the 4X100-meter relay and the 4X200-meter relay, Massey won the 300-meter hurdles in 50.81.

Besides helping in the relay events, Parsons placed sixth in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:09.00, while Bre Barbera also placed sixth in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 13:58.95. Liza Clegg came in third in the long jump at 12-10, while Anna Zills placed fifth in the shot put with a 31-6 heave, and sixth (90-04) in the discus.

For the Lady Pilots, who finished 10th with 12 points, Olivia Beard finished fifth in the 100 meter dash at 13.99 , and also in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:07.61. Carmen Hinerman placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles, and in the 300-meter hurdles at 53.37.

At Bellaire, Estep (13.48), Massey (14.02) and Chapman (14.03) finished one-to-three in the 100-meter dash, while Clegg (14.24) finishing fifth. Delaney continued to shine in the 1,600 meter run (5:43.45) and the 800-meter run (2:37.98) with first-place finishes, while Barbera (2:52.74) placed sixth in the 800 meter run.

Massey (51.93) finished first in the 300-meter hurdles, while Clegg (29.49) placed second in the 200-meter dash, while Parsons (30,86) and Cline (31.38) crossed the finish line fourth and sixth, respectively.

In addition, Chapman (1:07.50) and Parsons (1:07.78) finished fourth and fifth, respectively in the 400 meter dash. Estep (5-2) and Cline (4-10) finished one-two in the girls high jump, while Parsons (4-4) finished fifth for Magnolia. Estep (15-7) also won the long jump, while Olivia Mensore (13-5) placed fifth.

In the discus and the shot put, Autum Cecil (73-02) and Anna Zills (31-03) placed fourth and third, respectively, to finish all the area female athletes that scored.

Blue Eagle Boys Third and Fourth In Local Track Meets

The Magnolia boys placed third in the Ryan Jobes Spring Special, while placing fourth in the Bellaire meet.

The Eagles' Brooks Parsons (11.99) was his old self in the 100-meter dash in the Jobes Spring Special, while first-year runner Chase Street (12.18) finished third in his very first track experience.

Riley Nice (55.57) earned a fourth place finish in the 400-meter dash, while teammate Jack Booth (44.66) placed third in the 300-meter hurdles.

In the relay events, the team of Parsons, Nice, Street and newcomer Hunter Partridge placed second (45.64) to Williamstown (45.48) in the 4x100 meter event. However, the Eagles foursome of Parsons, Booth, Nice and Street finished first in the 4x200 meter relay event.

In addition, high jumpers Jacob Meyer (5-6) and Parsons (5-6) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, while Booth (18') finished second in the long-jump. Newcomers Caleb Nice (40-03) and Jared Barrows (39-04) was fourth and fifth in the shot put, while the Barrows brothers, Jared (120-05) and Jakob (109-05), were third and

fifth, and Tyler White (107-11) sixth in the discus events at Jobes Spring Special.

In the Bellaire meet, the team of Parsons, Nice, Booth and Street won the 4x100 relay (46.18); and the 4x200 meter (1:36.79), while the team of newcomers Spencer Shepherd, Ethan Coulter, Jacob Meyers and Ethan Herrick placed fourth in the 4x800 meter relay with a solid time of (9:58.79).

In the 100 meter dash, Street (11.84) and Partridge (12.32) finished third and sixth, respectively, while Trenton Robinson (5:32.52) and Austin Pyles (6:39.12) placed fourth and sixth, respectively, in the 1,600-meter run. Meyers (57.48) placed fourth in the 400-meter dash, while Booth (45.44) finished runner-up in the 300-meter hurdles.

In addition, Shepherd (2:12.79) placed third in the 800-meter run, while Parsons ((5-10) won the high jump while Meyers was (5-2) fourth. Caleb Nice (39-07) finished third, while Jay Eller (37-06) finished fifth in the shot put in Bellaire for all the place winners.
