Always Hold Out Hope

June 22, 2016
Wetzel Chronicle

Each one of us has been affected by cancer in some way.

Perhaps you have fought the disease yourself. Maybe a loved one has.

Perhaps your life has been forever changed by watching a loved one lose his or her battle to the disease.

Whatever the case, in a day and age when science and technology is striving to make our lives easier, it seems unfair that there has not yet been a cure found for cancer.

Yet, there is always hope.

We are blessed to live in a county whose people annually come together for an event such as Relay for Life, and they did just that on June 17.

Take a look at the moments captured on Page 11. There was plenty of laughter, as exemplified by the always-entertaining "Mr. Relay" contest.

There were quiet moments, and tearful moments, as well.

Always prevalent was the hope though.

There is an immeasurable strength in those who gather together for a common cause.

As this year's Relay For Life theme accurately stated, together we can make a difference.
