When asked if he anticipated such a large amount of heroin recovered, NMPD Chief Tim Cecil stated that once law enforcement had acquired statements in its investigation, they anticipated the large amount.

"I figure there are a lot of people 'dopesick' this morning," Cecil responded when asked if he felt the arrest would make a dent in the area's drug issue.

Cecil credited Monroe County Sheriff's Department for their assistance in the bust. "Sheriff Black always sends his officers to help," Cecil noted. "It was great teamwork, as always, with Monroe County. They always jump and run."

Cecil credited the following officers for their hard work: Narcotics Officer Patrolman Michael Owens, Narcotics Officer Patrolman Jason Utt, Patrolman Courtney South, Patrolman Bradley Mason, and Patrolman Cody Elliott, Monroe County Sheriff's Department Deputy Matt Abott, Deputy Will Poling and K-9 Neron.
