Bill Stewart Golf Scramble

The second annual Bill Stewart Memorial Golf Scholarship Tournament is scheduled at the Sistersville Country Club Aug. 23 with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.

The entry fee is $240 a four-person team. Included are a golf cart, awards, and a tailgate party. The four-person scramble is limited to the first paid 18 teams that register. Seniors (70 or older) play from the gold tees, while the ladies will play from the red tees. All other golfers will tee off from the regular tees.

The scholarship will be awarded to a senior class member of the Fairmont State University Football Team who best demonstrates the moral character and dedication of Bill Stewart.

Keller Gets Hole In One

Chris Keller of New Martinsville got a hole in one at Riverside Golf Course in Sardis on Sunday. Keller performed the feat on Hole #18, a 125-yard par three. He used a seven iron and had three witnesses: Scott Keller, Gary Keller, and Jimmy Keller. It was his first hole in one.

JMHS Softball Golf Scramble

The annual John Marshall Softball Golf Scramble will be held Aug. 16 at the Moundsville Country Club. The four-person scramble begins at 2 p.m., with registration at 1 p.m. Entry fee is $70 per person/$280 per team, and includes 18 holes of golf with cart, food, and beverages. Cash prizes will be presented to the top two teams, and there will also be individual awards. Registration forms can be downloaded at www.tinyurl.com/JMSoftballScramble. Sistersville Hospital Golf Scramble

The Sistersville General Hospital Benefit Golf Scramble will be held Sept. 17 at the Sistersville Country Club. A shotgun start for the four-person scramble will be held at 10 a.m. There is a limited field for the 18-hole event, so enter early.

Entry fee is $100 for a single golfer or $400 for a team. Sistersville Country Club members receive a $15 discount. Carts are included in entry fee.

There are monetary prizes for first and second places. There will also be skill prizes. A new car or cash will go to anyone making a hole-in-one on Number 1.
