The Summer Clock Is Ticking

August 6, 2014

The clocking is ticking off the moments left in the 2014 Summer Vacation. The time off from school is so precious; it just goes by far too quickly.

I hope you have had a great summer. I really have. I have tried my best to spend as much time as possible with my kids doing the kinds of things we can't often do the rest of the year-only during the golden time that is Summer Vacation.

We have gone swimming, enjoyed amusement parks, attended theater productions, visited caves, played miniature golf, ridden the ferry, gone bird watching, visited food factories, played on more playgrounds than I can count, watched movies in the park, oohed and aahhed at fireworks, visited museums and art exhibits, earned tickets and Chuck E. Cheese's, and even splashed in the beach. Yes, we have been busy and, while it can be tiring at times, I wouldn't have it any other way.

I hope you've been able to mark some things off your list of fun this summer. If you feel you haven't done enough-there is still time. Get out there! Go do that thing you've been wanting to do!! Just don't wait, because before you know it the summer vacation will be only a memory. So be sure your summer memory is, well, memorable.

Some of my favorite places in the Ohio Valley are Grand View Park, Kruger Street Toy and Train Museum, Marietta Aquatic Center, Johnny Shar's Ice Cream, Grave Creek Mound, Oglebay, and Children's Museum of the Ohio Valley. Visit one today!
