Christine N. Rial Dreyfuse, 27, of New Martinsville, was released from jail Aug. 4 after Judge David W. Hummel approved of a motion for a reduction in sentence.
Dreyfuse was originally sentenced to one to 10 years on Aug. 2, 2013 after pleading guilty to a forgery. The state agreed not to oppose a Rule 35 after Dreyfuse had served a year. Furthermore, the state's plea agreement originally called for a year's probation, but it was to run concurrent with Dreyfuse's sentence. The probation had actually discharged after Dreyfuse had served a year, but Monday Judge Hummel placed her on probation for a further 90 days.
At the time of Dreyfuse's plea, she had admitted to taking drugs. She stated she has been taking Percocet, along with Xanax, and she admitted she has no medical reason to take them. Dreyfuse said she spent about $200 a week on the drugs.
Dreyfuse stated the offense occurred when she used the victim's credit card at Walmart to buy a phone.
