A surprise 50th anniversary party was held at PPG's Proctor Park on May 1 in honor of Donnie and Sue Crawford, residents of Sardis.
A sit down dinner consisting of country fried steak and gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, noodles and rolls, was prepared by their daughter and daughter-in-law. The meal was served by two of the couple's grandchildren. Fifties and sixties music was played during the party while the couple slow danced and jitterbugged.
The Crawfords were married May 1, 1964, in Zanesville, Ohio. They have three children, six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Also celebrating their 50th anniversary was Sue's brother Ted and Evelyn Potts of Sardis. They were married Dec. 14, 1963, in Woodsfield. Sue's sister Ellet and Bob Howell of Sardis also celebrated their upcoming 50th anniversary, which will be June 27. They were married in Duffy.
The couple was totally surprised by the 85 guests in attendance and a good time was had by all. The couple would like to thank everyone for sharing that special day and for the beautiful cards and gifts.
