Four different Lady Wildcats scored in double figures, and would use a 21-0 run in the first and second periods to blow out the Lady Bulldogs 64-35 in the opening round of the Hometown Invitational Tournament Jan. 15 at Bob Burton Gymnasium.
Trailing 15-8 to open the game, Paden City's Head Coach David Riggle called a time out to settle down his cagers and set up a sniffling full court press that would give the 'Cats an 18-15 lead after the first eight minutes of play. Paden City would score the game's next 11 points before the Bulldogs tallied their only basket of the second stanza and the Lady 'Cats waltzed into the locker room up, 36-17.
Paden City kept up the defensive pressure in the third period, ultimately turning a 19-point advantage into a 28-point lead heading going into the final period of play. They followed up with a 13-10 run in the fourth period.
Hannah Stanley paced the Lady Wildcats with a game-high 19 points, including a trio of three-point baskets, while hauling in 10 rebounds and making four steals. Teammates Taylor Cosper, Kayla Hizer and Myah Charkawi each netted 11 points, with Cosper hauling in nine boards and making six steals.
In addition, Cydney Blatt added five markers, while Darien Ritchie netted three points and Kayla Barker and Jennifer Dahms each tallied two points.

The Lady 'Cats are picking up impressive wins of late, beating Valley Fayette 56-35 in the semifinals of the H.I.T. in Bob Burton Gymnasium Jan. 18.
Paden City led 28-27 at the break and would use a 28-8 run in the second half to gain the nod. The 'Cats' Cydney Blatt led all scorers with 15 points, while Hannah Stanley and Myah Charkawi teamed for 22 markers. In addition, Taylor Cosper kicked in five points, while Kayla Barker netted four points. Katie Shreves banked in a deuce, while Jennifer Dahms cashed in on a free throw.
