In their first meet of the season, a tri match with Tyler Consolidated and Linsly, the Blue Eagles won 42-33 over Linsly and 58-15 against the Silver Knights inside the MHS HammerDome Dec. 11.

Jett started the Blue Eagle action, winning a forfeit and Riley Nice would then claim a 6-5 victory before and Riter won by a fall 2:39. Adams then took care of business with a nice 8-4 victory.

After a pair of losses, Kelly would get the Eagles back on track with a quick pin. After Magnolia's Harley Price (160) won by a fall, Linsly would pick up five points on a fall of its own. However, Caleb Nice got the Eagles back on the winning side once more when the referee raised his arm in victory for a solid pin fall over his Cadet opponent.

After a forfeit, the Eagles' Tyler Baker fell to Linsly's Chimechi Oparanozie 6-1 and Phillip Harlan lost on a fall. The Eagles had several wrestlers compete in exhibition matches and did very well, winning two of three matches.

In the Tyler Consolidated bout, Jett made quick work of Ben Pratt, scoring on a fall in 0:29 seconds. However, teammate Riley Nice was even quicker to score a pinfall -- only 0:15 against Zach Bonner. Next were Riter and Tristen Thomas, who each scored six easy points with forfeits, before teammate Adams won a major decision by the score of 14-6 over Tyler Johnson.

The Knights scored falls over Campbell and Kurt Starkey before Kelly, Harley Price, Josh Ruble and Caleb Nice each recorded falls to win their matches. After a double forfeit, Baker won by a fall over Brandon Keys, while Harlan lost a 8-2 decision against Austin Spencer.

The young and improving Blue Eagle squad has started the season winning its first three matches, including a tournament, and will try to keep the winning streak intact when they head to Zep Country tonight at 5:30 p.m. to take on Shenandoah. The eagles will then visit Barnesville High School Saturday to participate in the Buffalo Brawl at 10 a.m.
