Thankful Readers

November 27, 2013
Wetzel Chronicle

Bad news is not something we can escape here, even at a small town paper. We know at times the content of our front page can seem negative, but it's our job to report the news. And unfortunately, in this day and age, good news is sometimes hard to come by.

However, at this time of year, we are reminded to count our blessings and even when the skies are dreary and times are darker, to always remain hopeful and thankful. We are thankful for our family, our friends, and in these rough economic times, our jobs.

Here is what several readers had to say when asked what they are thankful for this year . . .

Kiley Noelle Ankrom replied she was thankful for "my hardworking husband my three beautiful children."

Tim Bassett remarked he was thankful that his nephew is winning his battle against cancer. "He is truly an inspiration to me to have had to fight such a hard fight at his age," Bassett said.

"I am thankful for my family and our jobs," Maple Mercer commented. "There are so many people doing without jobs right now." Mercer further wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and "plenty to eat!"

"I am thankful for a great family and a wonderful childhood here in a small town," Linda Barth remarked. "Simple pleasures and many great memories."

"I am thankful for my hardworking loving mom," Corina Sittig Dempsey said. "But we call her mutti!!"

"I am thankful for my loving family and friends," said Kimberly Hatcher.

And readers, let us not forget you. We are always thankful for you.

(Editor's note: These comments of thankfulness came from a post we made on Facebook. If you want to weigh in on future conversations and keep updated on local happenings, like us on Facebook.)
