The Lumberjacks' Trey Streets and Peyton Palmer rambled for 120 and 91 yards, respectively, and each scored a touchdown, but it wasn't enough to keep the Frontier Cougars from a 27-12 victory on homecoming night at Tom West Field Oct. 18.
In the opening period, the Cougars raced out to a 7-0 lead before Palmer and Streets each went the distance on a 15 and 20 yard TD runs, respectively, to grab a 12-7advantage at the break.
Frontier scored two touchdowns in the third and another in the fourth quarter to get the win.
The Lumberjacks had 240 yards rushing and two scores, although the 'Jacks failed to complete a pass in seven attempts. Frontier rushed for 261 yards and three scores, while their passing game connected on 5-11 passes for 99 yards and a touchdown.
Each team moved the chains 13 times. The 'Jacks committed only one foul, while the Cougars were caught eight times for 75 lost yards.
Up next for Valley is a road trip to face Doddridge County Friday Oct. 25 for a 7:30 p.m. start.
