Cases Continued

October 23, 2013
BY LAUREN MATTHEWS - Staff Writer , Wetzel Chronicle

The case involving Joshua Ray Watson will be resolved Oct. 29, 10 a.m., in Wetzel County Circuit Court when the defendant is expected to enter into a plea agreement.

Watson, 21, of RR1, Box 111, Metz, was indicted by the May 2012 grand jury on charges of nighttime burglary and grand larceny.

The case involving Charles Michael Young, 52, and Mary Evelyn Young, 51, both of Route 1 Box 31A, New Martinsville, has been continued until Dec. 3, 10 a.m.

They are charged with feloniously misappropriating the assets of a person over the age of 65 and forging the attestation of a notary public to the Quitclaim Deed at the center of the charges.

Additionally, Mary Evelyn Young's third count in her indictment states that on or about Dec. 13, 2010, in Wetzel County, she committed the offense of uttering wherein she feloniously employed as true the above named Quitclaim Deed, when she knew the attestation of the notary public thereon was forged.

The case involving Ronald A. Morgan has also been continued until Nov. 5, 1:15 p.m. Morgan was handed a one-count indictment by the May 2012 grand jury charging him with the felony offense of grand larceny.

In another matter, Attorney Kevin Neiswonger submitted a signed waiver to the court from his client James Hall, who previously waived his right to a speedy trial during the May 2013 term of court. Hall currently resides in Virginia, and because of a lengthy travel time, does not always come to every court hearing.

A return date was set for Dec. 3, 10 a.m.
