‘Cats Win, Lose

The Lady ‘Cats won 2-1 against Linsly Sept. 26 in a tri with Toronto. Against host Linsly, Baker led all scorers with 19 markers that included three from service. She also had two assists, seven kills and 12 digs, while Hizer fired in 15 points including three aces. Hizer also had 10 kills, six blocks and seven digs.

Pierce followed in scoring with 12 markers, eight kills, six blocks and seven digs, while Cosper contributed 11 points that included one ace. She also dished out 34 assists and six digs. Charkawi and Blatt each put up five points. Blatt’s markers included two aces and she added 12 kills and two digs. Charkawi had 14 digs. Arnett contributed four kills and five blocks, while Still had seven digs

Paden City lost 2-1 in three sets to Toronto. Hizer had a team-high 18 points that included two bullets, nine kills, six blocks and four digs. Blatt followed with 15 markers with two aces, seven kills and three digs, while Baker fired in 13 points, 14 digs, three kills and two assists.

Cosper had seven points, two aces, 26 assists, nine digs and a kill and Charkawi finished Paden City’s scoring with five points that included an ace. She added 14 digs, while Still added six digs. Arnett blocked six and killed five.

Earlier in the week, the Lady ‘Cats hosted Bridgeport, who prevailed in three sets, 25-20, 25-21 and 25-15. Hizer was on her game, firing up 14 points that included an ace, while adding four kills. Cosper was next in scoring with 11 markers that included one ace. She added five digs and 18 assists.

Baker scored eight points and two aces to go along with four assists, five kills and as many digs. Pierce sent up nine points that included two from the service line and added five kills, six blocks and a dig. Blatt scored seven pints and an ace. She also was credited with 11 kills and two digs.

Charkawi marked up three points, one kill and three digs for Paden City, while Still had one dig and Arnett had four kills.
