The following matters met the approval of the Wetzel County Board of Education at their meeting Tuesday:

Shannon L. Eastham, acceptance of resignation from position as seventh and eighth grade cheerleader coach at Long Drain School, effective immediately.

Jodi L. Evans, acceptance of resignation from position as assistant volleyball coach at Magnolia High School, effective immediately.

Professional Personnel:

Lance L. Binegar, approval for change in assignment from sixth through eighth grade social studies teacher at Long Drain School to MI/LD/BD with Autism teacher (English Content), on permit, at Valley High School, effective Aug. 20.

Kayla J. Brill, approval for change in assignment from countywide substitute teacher to first grade teacher at New Martinsville school, effective Sept. 4.

Lindsay R. Leasure, approval for employment as countywide substitute teacher, effective Sept. 4.

Denise M. Minger, approval for employment as preschool special-needs teacher at Paden City Elementary School, effective Sept. 16.

Joshua G. Sims, approval for change in assignment from countywide substitute teacher to MI/LD/BD with Autism teacher (Mathematics Content), on permit, at MHS, effective Sept. 4.

Out of State Trips:

Approval of request from Annie Hall, Agricultural Education Teacher at VHS to take 10 students and three chaperones from the Pine Grove FFA Chapter at VHS to the Ohio Farm Science Review in London, Ohio on Sept. 19. Funded through student fees and the Pine Grove FFA Chapter.

Approval of request from Annie Hall, Agricultural Education Teacher at VHS to take five students and two chaperones from the Pine Grove FFA Chapter at VHS to the National FFA Convention in Louisville, KY Oct. 29-Nov. 2. Funded through student fees and the Pine Grove FFA Chapter.

The board will begin their annual tour of county school areas and meeting with their Local School Improvement Councils. This year they will meet at the elementary schools, but the LSICs of the respective high schools will be included at the meetings: Sept. 16, regular meeting, LDS (LSIC), 6:30 p.m.; Oct. 7, regular meeting - PCES (LSIC), 6:30 p.m.; Oct. 21, regular meeting, SLS (LSIC), 6:30 p.m.; Nov. 4, regular meeting, NMS (LSIC), 6:30 p.m.
