The Next Step Baseball Camp for kids ages 8-18 will take place at the I-470 Complex in Wheeling Aug. 3-4 from 9 a.m.-noon for athletes wanting to pitch or catch with qualified instructors.
The registration fee is $40 a day or $60 for both days and is designed for players that are interested in improving their pitching and catching skills in a small, skill-specific environment. Next Step members will get a $5 discount off each day of camp.
The campers will be coached through drills on the field and in the bullpens. Pitchers will also learn the same throwing program performed daily by the West Liberty Hilltopper pitchers to build arm strength and prevent injury.
Catchers will learn all fundamental catching principals.
All campers will receive individual instruction based on their strengths and weaknesses. Players will be grouped accordingly to age, physical maturity, and overall ability.
Instructors and speakers for the camp are Gary Lee, pitching coach for the Washington Wild Things; Terry Edwards, head coach of the Wheeling Jesuit University Baseball Team; Justin Hall, Tampa Bay Rays; Justin Edwards, pitching coach for the West Liberty Hilltoppers; and Noah Mull of the San-Diego Padres.
Contact Justin Edwards with any questions at 304-218-9349 or email him at NextStepBaseballClub@gmail.com.
